Renault Wind Roadster Officially Revealed

The official photos and details of the Renault’s latest small coupe-roadster is out. The Renault Wind is set to premier at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show.

The Wind will be competition with other roadster available in the UK markets like Peugeot 207CC. The two seater roadster has been built on the base on Twingo. The Wind also comes with an electric roof which can rotate upto 180 degree into the trunk unlike the retractable hardtop used in 207CC.

At present Renault has not released much details and performance figures. But we are expecting the Wind to be powered by the same Twingo’s petrol engines, 1.2-liter turbo with 100HP and 1.6-liter unit with 133HP.

Renault Clio S Launched in the UK

Renault has launched the Clio S range models in the UK. The Clio S will be offered in UK with several sporty enhancements along with the features already offered in the US models.

The Clio S gets a new 16-inch polar alloy wheels and front white bumpers painted in white while in the rear it gets a GT spoiler. The car also gets racing stripes with ‘S’ incorporated in each of them. In interior the car is upgraded with ‘S’ embossed upholstery, leather steering wheels and new white center console and intrument dials.

The Clio S is to be offered in three engine variants, 1.2 16V 75, 1.2 TCe 100 and 1.5 dCi 86, all of which meet Renaults eco2 criteria.

The Clio S Starts at at 11,209 for the 1.2 16V 75 and goes up to 13,458 for the 1.5 dCi 86 A/C. The Car is availble in four colors at present namely, Glacier White, Pearl Black, Capsicum Red and Extreme Blue.

Renaults Launches I-Music Edition Range For UK

Renault has just now launched its new I-Music Range which is meant to provide more options at less money. The new I-Music edition is availble to following models : Clio three-door, Clio five-door, Clio Sport Tourer, Modus, Grand Modus, Kangoo, Mgane Hatch, Mgane Coup, Mgane Sport Tourer, Scnic and Grand Scnic.

All models of the I-Music range will feature air conditioning, alloy wheels, brushes aluminium effect door mirrors, bluetooth phone connectivity, and the Tunepoint (A Function that enable to connect the music player to the radio of your Renault using USB, jack or Ipod socket.)

If you would like a Clio I-Music, you can choose between three engines from Renaults eCO2 range of economical and ecological cars. The price starts at 11,235, which would save you up tp 600 in equipment, according to Renault. The same amount can be saved by buying a Modus or a Grand Modus.

Customers interested in buying a Kangoo I-Music should know they can opt for a the 1.6 8V or the dCi 86 or dCi 106 engines. The price starts at 12,550 and you can save up to 675. The Mgane I-Music Special Edition is available with 1.6 petrol engines and with the dCi 86 and dCi 106 diesel engines. The price starts at 15,485, saving the customer up to 930 from the price of the equipment if ordered separately.

The Scnic and Grand Scnic I-Music versions are available with one of three petrol engines: 1.6 VVT 110, TCe 130 or 2.0 CVT 140; or one of the two diesel engines: dCi 106 or dCi 130. Priced from 15,995, the customer will save up to 750.

Renault Launches Twingo Gordini RS

Renault has launched its first model that will mark the return of the Gordini nameplate- the Twingo Gordini R.S. The car is premiered at L’Atelier Renault on Champs-Elyses, in Paris. The Gordini is expected to hit the European stores by March 2010.

The most noticible looking thing in the car is the exterior, it comes with a traditional blue metallic finish with two white racing stripes. The front and the rear bumpers has been painted in gloss black while the foglamp surrounds, exterior mirror housings and lip spoiler are finished in white. A set of 17-inch blue or black alloy is also availble.

The car also features Renault Sports seats , Gordini badged leather upholstery, blue leather door panels,blue and black leather steering wheel with two white stripes, blue gearlevel bellows and Gordini-badged gearlever knob, blue rev-counter with white surround and trimmed dashboard cowl with visible stitching.

The Renault Twingo Gordini RenaultSport gains extra standard equipment including automatic climate-control, automatic headlamp activation, automatic wiper activation, cruise control, fully disconnectable ESP and an upgraded MP3 audio system.

Renault Megane RenaultSport 250 and RS 250 Priced

Renault UK Has revealed the Pricing details of Renaultsport Hatch.Offered in two versions, the more hardcore 250 Cup at 21,995 and the 250 with more equipment at 22,995, the new car will be available for order on 1st November with first deliveries set to take place in January, 2010. Both variants of the Megane RS (that’s short for RenaultSport) are fitted with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 250HP at 5,500 rpm and 340Nm of peak torque at 3,000 rpm.

The engine drives the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, with Renault claiming a 0-100km/h (62mph) time of 6.1 seconds and the 1,000-metre standing start said to be covered in 25.7 seconds.

The 250 Cup’s standard equipment includes cruise control, eight airbags, RAID automatic door locking, Brembo brakes, ESP system, Renault keycard, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, 60W RDS MP3-compatible CD player with fingertip control, Bluetooth and RCA connection, ISOFIX child seat mountings, rear parking sensors and the Cup Suspension Pack.

The latter adds a limited slip differential, stiffer springs, dampers and anti-roll bar, grooved discs, red finish to the Brembo brake calipers, 235/40 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres and ‘AX-L’ 18″ x 8.25″ alloy wheels in satin black.

The less-compromised Megane Renaultsport 250 features more luxury amenities such as leather upholstery, heated front seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, Renault Hands Free card, dual-zone climate control, automatic operation of the lights and wipers, 18″ ‘Keza’ alloy wheels with 225/40 Dunlop Sport Maxx TT tyres, extra tinted tailgate and rear side windows, tire pressure monitor and Multi-functional TunePoint.

Renault also offers the Cup Suspension Pack as an option combined with Recaro front seats for the 250 at 1,950.

2011 Renault Clio Supermini Designs Leaked

The new, fourth generation Renault Clio may still be far way from production but that hasn’t deterred magazines from speculating on the supermini’s appearance. In one of its latest issues, French car magazine Autoplus has published a series of artist’s renditions of the 2011 Clio that are said to based on some allegedly official grainy black-and-white designs that were leaked online earlier this year.

The computer generated images suggest a more dramatic styling with ’swoopier’ lines and a bolder face for Renault’s Ford Fiesta and Citroen C3 rival. As is the case with many of these future car renditions, there’s no way of being sure about how close or not they are to the actual production model.

Renault Zoe Z.E Electric Supermini comes To Frankfurt

Proving that electric cars can be fun, at least in theory, Renault took the wraps off its second all-electric showcar in Frankfurt after the Fluence Z.E, the Zoe Z.E. which is a compact-sized, four seater supermini with scissor doors at the front and butterfly doors at the rear. The funky looking French concept is motivated by a 70kW / 93 horsepower electric motor with the lithium-ion batteries promising to offer a driving range of around 100 miles or 160 kilometers.

The Zoe Z.E. also gets massive 21-inch alloy wheels and a retractable rear spoiler for greater aerodynamic efficiency while the photovoltaic cells on the rooftop recover solar energy to power the climate control system that has been co-developed with L’Ora and features ‘hydrating’, ‘detox’ and ‘active scent’ spray functions -all for the sake of beauty…

Renault Fluence Z.E. Electric Sedan Concept Unveiled

Renault revealed a total of four electric vehicle concept cars in Frankfurt including the two-seater Twizy Z.E. mini, the Zoe Z.E. small coupe, the Kangoo Z.E. and the Fluence Z.E. ompact sedan. All of the prototype models use similar technology to the Nissan Leaf EV that was uncovered this past summer. According to Renault, all four cars preview the firm’s electric vehicle range which will be released from 2011. One of the first models to be launched into the market will be the electric version of the recently revealed Fluence sedan.

However, unlike its production sibling with the same designation, the Fluence Z.E. concept actually looks pretty good – yes, far too good to make it into production looking like this…

The concept model is equipped with a 70kW or 95HP electric motor that is powered by a set of lithium-ion batteries that give the saloon 100 miles / 160 kilometers driving range.

Renault says that the battery can be charged using three different methods: a standard charge that takes between four and eight hours, a quick charge which is done in only 20 minutes or alternitavely, through the automated ‘Quickdrop’ system that removes and replaces the batteries in just three minutes.

Renault to Reveal Four Electric Concept Cars in Frankfurt

French carmaker Renault decided to tease all four electric concept cars that it will be displaying at its Frankfurt show stand by releasing a rather unusual ‘bird’s eye view’ photo of the EVs. Starting from the left, there’s a small, futuristic-looking one-seater ‘pod’ while the car on its right looks like a Twingo or a Twingo-sized proposal. The third concept appears to be a small coupe-like model while the larger four-door sedan model on the right bears a passing resemblance to the newly introduced Fluence.

According to Renault, the four-electric concept cars preview the firm’s upcoming Zero Emission product range more details of which will be released at the Frankfurt show.

Renault Releases World Series Special Edition Clio and Megane Models

This summer sees the launch of a new series of special edition Clio and Megane models named after Renault’s World Series single-seater challenge. Due to make their public appearance at Silverstone track on the first weekend of July, the World Series Clio, Megane Hatch and Megane Coupe versions feature sportier body styling (but that’s about it) with the French automaker claiming savings for the customer between 940 to 1,190 over the price of the additional items if they were ordered separately in the UK.

The Clio World Series by Renault is based on the Dynamique trim level adding a front spoiler, side skirts, a sports rear bumper plus WSR badging. It is available with two gasoline engines, a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter with 75HP and a 1.2-liter turbocharged four with 100HP, plus a 1.5-liter diesel producing 86HP, with prices starting from 12,170 on the road.

Priced from 16,595, the five-door Megane hatch version benefits from a front apron, Coupe-style bumper inserts, side skirts, a sports rear bumper, rear spoiler, WSR badging and 17-inch alloy wheels. Buyers can choose from the 1.6-liter petrol with 110HP or the 1.5-liter diesel making 106HP.

And finally, there’s the Megane Coupe World Series by Renault which sports a front spoiler, side skirts, specific rear bumper and 17-inch alloy wheels. Priced from 16,995, it is offered with the same engines as the hatch model.

All three models are available for order in the UK from 1st July with deliveries starting from July 6th, 2009.
