Peugeot 308CC gets Six-Speed Automatic option

Just a week after the announcement of the availability of Peugeot 308CC with new 1.6-liter diesel with power output 112HP , Peugeot has added the option of 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with six-speed automatic transmission in 308CC.

The new unit will replace the 1.6-liter Turbo unit which pumps 140HP and is mated to 4-speed automatic gearbox. With new engine and gearbox the 308CC now sprints from 0-100km/h in just 9.8 seconds, 2.4 second faster than the predecessor. The car can now achieve a top speed of 211km/h as compared to 204km/h offered in later one.

The Peugeot now returns a fuel efficiency of 36.6mpg UK. The 308CC 156HP Automatic is available across Peugeot stores for sale with the price starting from 23,595 on-the-road. The new model will be available in both SE and GT trim.

Peugeot 408 Sedan Launched in China

Peugeot has launched has launched its latest china-made Peugeot 408 sedan in Beijing,china. The Peugeot 408 is not the successor of the European version of Peugeot 407 which is already available in china market. This car will go on sale from spring 2010.

The Peugeot 408 will be available in two engine options: 1.6-liter unit that delivers a power output of 110HP and a torque of 147Nm, and 2.0-liter unit which pumps 147HP and a torque of 200NM.

Peugeot has also added safety features which include 6 airbags, 5 safety belts, visual warning system plus and front and rear headrest.Other features are 7-inch LCD screen,music player with mp3 and wma compatibility, Bluetooth support, USB connectivity. It also comes with Cruise control and Bi-Xenon headlamps.

2010 Peugeot 107 Sweet Years Revealed

Peugeot has released the details of the 2010 107 Sweet Years Version. The Peugeot 107 is the company’s most selling models across the 107 range.

The car comes with numerous interior and exterior upgrades. The Aweet Years version will feature an AvMap Geosat navigation system, new Audio system with Bluetooth support, USB connectivity and iPod docking station along with a 4.8-inch LCD display.

Some other features introduced were ESP, dirver and front passenger Air bags, side Air bags, Air conditioner and Electric front windows.

Outside the car you will notice new customized logos and floor mats. Offered with option of 3 or 4 door configuration and 1.4 or 1.0 liter engines, the Sweet Years pricing will starts at 11,795 Euros.

The 1.0 liter engine coupled to 5-speed manual transmission the car offers a power outout of 68HP and a torque of 92Nm with carbon emission figure of 108 gm CO2 per km and top speed of 156 Km/h. The company claims to provide a fuel efficiency of 42.7mpg in city and 57.3mpg on highways.

Peugeot 308CC Hardtop Convertible gets 1.6-Liter HDi Heart

Peugeot has upgraded the engine of its popular convertible, the 308 CC. It’s the first Peugeot model to get the 1.6-liter HDi FAP turbo diesel engines which is Euro 5 Emission compliant.

The 308 CC will now provide a output of 112HP and a torque of 270Nm. According to Peugeot, this car had been revamped almost 50% in comparasion to its predecessor inorder to reduce the noise and CO2 emission and also to provide a better fuel economy.

The 308CC is coupled to six-speed manual gearbox and cruises from 0-100km/h in just 12.2 seconds with a top speed of 191 km/h. According to Peugeot, this convertible will provide a fuel economy of 53.3mpg.

Both the sports and SE version of the 308 CC will get the HDi engine upgradation. The price of the upgraded 308CC starts from 21,095.00.

Peugeot New Bipper Tepee MPV Comes to UK

Bipper Tepee is the latest addition to Peugeot’s UK range. The compact size minivan with the sliding rear doors has an overall length of 3,959mm, a width of 1,684mm and a 1,720mm and can seat five-passengers. The MPV’s load area has a capacity of 356 liters under the rear parcel shelf which can be expanded to 884 liters with the 60 / 40 split rear seat bench folded or 2.5m3 with the rear seat removed.

In the UK, the Bipper Tepee is offered with a choice of two engines, a 1.4-liter petrol fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 70HP 1.4-liter HDi diesel available with either a conventional 5 speed manual gearbox or electronically controlled 5 speed manual gearbox.

With the petrol unit the Bipper Tepee accelerates from zero to 62mph (100km/h) in a whopping 16,6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 96mph or 154km/h while returning a combined fuel economy of 42.8mpg UK (35.6 mpg US).

The 70HP diesel drags the French MPV from standstill to 62mph in 18.7 sec (oddly enough, Peugeot says the automatic is slightly faster at 18.4 sec) and on to a top speed of 94mph or 151 km/h. The diesel model returns a combined economy of 62.8mpg UK (52.3 mpg US).

On sale now, the Bipper Tepee is available in two trim levels S and Outdoor. The S starts from 9,995 and comes equipped with driver, passenger and side airbags, ABS, one touch electric front windows, electric heated door mirrors, remote control central locking, radio / CD player with MP3 functionality, twin glazed sliding side doors and height adjustable driver seat with armrest.

Priced from 10,795, the Outdoor features a suspension raised by 15 mm, larger body sill protection mouldings and side mouldings, an underbody engine protection plate, lower front panel trim, roof bars, front fog lights and air-conditioning.

Peugeot 7-Seater MPV Price Announced for UK

French automaker Peugeot today released detailed pricing on its all-new 5008 MPV that is due to go on sale in the UK in January 2010. Buyers can choose from three different trim levels – Active, Sport and Exclusive all of which feature Peugeot’s Multiflex interior with seven seats, the second row of which folds flat and the third row can be hidden below the floor. Engine options include two petrols with 120HP and 156HP and three diesels with 110HP, 150HP and 163HP.

Prices range from 16,895 for the base 5008 VTi 120 Active to 23,695 for the top-of-the-line 5008 HDi 163 Auto Exclusive.

All versions come equipped with standard ESP, (Electronic Stability Programme), automatic electric parking brake with Hill Assist, Energy Saver tires and air conditioning.

The 5008 Sport models are also equipped with 17-in. alloy wheels, an Aluminium package (trim for front grille, front fog lights and chrome detailing), cruise control with speed limiter, lighting pack with removable torch, Storage pack (under seat and footwell storage), color coded exterior and front fog lights.

The Excluisve trim adds more standard features such as the Cielo panoramic glass roof, a Visibility pack (automatic headlamps and wipers), Rear Vision pack (electric folding mirrors, electrochrome interior mirror), Head Up display, Distance Alert, rear parking aid, USB and Bluetooth handsfree equipment and climate control air conditioning.

Peugeot Limited Edition RCZ Sports Coupe Launched at Frankfurth

As well as introducing the production version and a hybrid prototype of its Audi TT and VW Scirocco challenger, Peugeot also used the Frankfurt motor show to launch a “Limited Edition” of the RCZ, reserved for its first 200 European customers. Available for order now with first deliveries expected in Spring 2010, the special RCZ comes equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine that makes 156 horsepower and is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox that drives the front wheels.

The numbered edition of the RCZ features a special pearlescent white paintwork which is contrasted by the real carbon fiber rooftop and mirror housings as well as the gloss black of the bumper grille and the brake calipers, the smoked chrome of the wheel arches and the matte black of the 19-inch alloy wheels.

The 2+2 coupe’s interior is finished with Peugeot’s top-of-the-range Nappa black leather upholstery while the vehicle’s standard equipment has been upgraded with various features such as directional bi-Xenon headlamps, heated electric seats, front and rear parking assistance and alarm.

Peugeot said that he “Limited Edition” RCZ is available in France at a price of 35,500.

Peugeot RCZ Coupe Prices at £19,900 For UK Market, Goes on sale in 2010

Even though we’re still a week away from the first public appearance of Peugeot’s sexy RCZ at the Frankfurt Show and more than six months away from its market launch in the UK in Spring 2010, the French automaker has released pricing for the 2+2 coupe. The entry-level RCZ with the 156HP 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol and a manual gearbox starts start at an on-the-road price of 19,900 or 240 more than the VW Scirocco 160HP 1.4 TSI (19,660).

The range-topping RCZ with the 200HP version of the 1.6L turbo is priced at 24,500 which is 980 less than the Audi TT Coupe 200HP 2.0 TSI. There’s also a 2.0-liter HDi diesel with 163 horsepower that starts from 21,700.

The RCZ will be offered in two grades with the entry trim level including 18-inch alloy wheels, sports front seats, dual zone air-conditioning, folding rear seat, rear parking aid, deadlocks, selective access locking, alarm and immobilizer, four airbags, ESP, EBFD, EBA, ABS, double bubble rear screen, black roof panel, active rear spoiler and twin rear sports’ exhaust.

The second trim level adds a leather interior, electric heated front seats, carpet mats, front parking aid, auto tilting (when reversing) door mirrors, automatic lights, follow-me-home lighting, automatic windscreen wipers, automatic exterior approach lighting, 19-inch alloy wheels.

Buyers can also further personalize their car with a range of options including different style 19-inch alloy wheels, carbon roof panel (gloss black), carbon roof panel (satin finish), integral leather, Peugeot connect media navigation 3D (NG4), xenon headlamps, directional lights, gloss black brake calipers, black roof arches, matt roof arches and JBL Hi Fi Pack.

Peugeot i0n EV to Debut in Frankfurth Motor Show, Goes on Sale in 2010

Looks like Pug’s designers had a much easier task than initially thought when we decided to ‘chop’ a Peugeot fascia on the Mitsubishi i-MiEV after the announcement on the introduction of the Peugeot and Citroen EVs based on the Japanese mini. In what seems like a five minute job, Peugeot slapped one of its logos on the i-MiEV, changed the alloy wheels and slightly altered the front bumper to accommodate Euro-plates and ‘voila’: the new Peugeot i0n…

The French automaker, which claims to be the manufacturer with the most “zero emission” electric vehicles sold in the world to this day with models like the Peugeot 106 Electric that was produced between 1995 and 2003, will display the i0n for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this month..

The European-spec i-MiEV (let’s not fool ourselves, that’s what the i0n is) is motivated by an electric motor that drives the rear wheels producing an output of 47kW or 64HP and 180Nm or 132.8-lbs/ft of maximum torque that allows the 3,480 mm long mini to achieve a top speed of 130 km/h (80mph).

The four-seater EV has an operating range of 130 kilometers or 80 miles on a single charge of its lithium-ion batteries that can be fully recharged in six hours using a domestic mains power supply. If you use the fast charge system, the batteries can be recharged up to 80% capacity within thirty minutes.

Production of both the Citroen and Peugeot variants of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV will commence in October 2010 with sales pegged to start in Europe towards the end of 2010.

Frankfurt Preview: Peugeot to show production 3008 HYBrid, 5008, RCZ

The Frankfurt Motor Show next month will be a busy place for Peugeot, as the French automaker plans to unveil two new production models plus its first production hybrid along with a gas-electric concept vehicle. The 5008 minivan and RCZ sport coupe are both making their first public appearances as production models, and a second version of the RCZ will also be on display equipped with Peugeot’s new HYBrid4 powertrain. HYBrid4 is a parallel through-the-road system that utilizes a conventional internal combustion powertrain that powers one end.

A battery and electric motor reside at the opposite end. In both the RCZ and 3008 crossover, the electric drive is at the rear axle. The system allows the vehicle to have on demand all-wheel drive and can operate in internal combustion, EV or blended modes. The advantage of splitting the powertrains it vastly reduces mechanical complexity compared to power split systems like those from Toyota and Ford. There currently aren’t any production plans for the RCZ hybrid, although that could easily change.

The 3008 HYBrid4 is scheduled to launch in early 2011 and may well be the first diesel hybrid light duty vehicle on the road. The 3008 crossover is projected to have CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km while the RCZ would cut that to just 95 g/km.

The conventional gas-powered RCZ coupe debuts next spring with a 200 horsepower, 1.6-liter four cylinder. Meanwhile, the 5008 will join Chrysler’s minivans in being shown with an available in-car WIFI hot-spot.
