Special Edition Infiniti FX Limited Launched

Infiniti has announced the launch of the special edition of its worldwide popular crossover, named FX limited edition. The second generation Infiniti FX has been launched two year ago at the 2008 Geneva Auto show.

According to the company, there will be only 100 such limited edition models, out of which only 18 units will be sold in UK. The limited Edition FX will be powered by either V6-FX37S or the V8-FX50S. At present it will be offered in Black Obsidian finish as standard along with White metallic pearl finish as a option.

Features introduced in the limited edition includes new smoked headlamps, new set of 21-inch alloy wheels finished in dark graphite, while the radiator grille, side air vents and roof rails are also finished in dark graphite.

Inside the car, you can find new illuminated ‘Infiniti’ entry guards, new carbon fiber trim, graphite leather upholstery seats and dashboard with hand stitching.

In both engine option the car will come equipped with Connectivi+ technology package which incorporates navigation system, 11-speaker bose premium music system, iPod connectivity and 10GB music box with Gracenotes database.

The FX limited edition price starts from 55,855 for the 320HP V6 engined FX37S rising to 62,035 for the 390HP, V8 powered FX50S.

Infiniti Facelifted 2010 G37 Sedan and G37 Coupe Prices Released

Infiniti has annoucned the Pricing details for the 2010 G37 sedan and coupe models which has been launched few weeks ago. The pricing of these cars start from $33,250 for the 2010 G37 four-door sedan and from $36,050 for the 2010 G37 coupe.

The new sedan has been provided with minor changes in exterior such as new grille, reshaped front bumper and headlight treatments. No exterior changes has been made to the 2010 G37 coupe.

While both the cars has got interior upgrades which include next genration navigation system, revised colour and trim, new gauge color scheme amd center console design.

The 2010 infiniti G sedan and coupe comes with a 3.7-liter V6 and a choice of 7-sped automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual gearbox as well as availble in all wheel drive system.

Carlos Ghosn Confirms Plans for an All-Electric, High-Performance Infiniti Model

Nissan Motor Co. President and CEO Carlos Ghosn, took advantage of the 41st Tokyo Motor Show to announce that the group’s luxury Infiniti brand plans to introduce a fully-electric, battery-powered vehicle. According to Ghosn, the concept is to create “a stylish, compact, high performance four-seat luxury Infiniti with zero emissions.” No other details were released on Infiniti’s dedicated EV model, though one possibility is that it could be based on parent company Nissan’s all-electric LEAF that will go on sale in the U.S. in mid-to-late 2010.

2012 Infiniti M35 Hybrid Goes Official, Sales Start in 2011

These are the first official photos of the new Infiniti M35 Hybrid that will be join the lineup of the recently announced 2011 M luxury performance sedan that is scheduled to go on sale in spring 2010. The Japanese firm’s first-ever production hybrid vehicle is expected to arrive in U.S. dealerships about 12 months later than its gasoline-powered counterparts as a 2012 model. Retaining the regular 2011 M’s rear-wheel drive setup, the M35 Hybrid’s drivetrain combines both mechanical and electrical propulsion systems.

In particular, Infiniti’s hybrid system that has been developed by the firm’s parent company Nissan, features a single electric motor/twin clutch arrangement with the first clutch installed between the naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 and the electric motor.

As with many other hybrid models such as the Prius, the M35 Hybrid’s electric motor can either help the V6 gasoline unit during acceleration in “power-assist” mode or under certain driving conditions, work alone to move the car. The electric motor also works as a generator charging the battery in the normal way as well as recovering energy otherwise lost during deceleration and braking.

The M35 Hybrid sedan is equipped with a “laminated” lithium-ion battery pack that is the same size as conventional batteries but offers twice as much power. According to the Japanese automaker, the lamination improves the battery pack’s cooling performance, while temperature stability is further enhanced by the use of manganese positive electrodes.

“The M35 Hybrid maintains a high performance luxury sedan profile, overlaying it with the fuel economy and CO2 emissions of a smaller car, while delivering driving flair to please any enthusiast complete with charismatic V6 and rear-wheel drive handling,” Infiniti said in a statement.

The automaker said that it will release details on the driving range, performance and transmission closer to the M35 Hybrid’s launch date.

2010 Infiniti FX Priced $43,000, Gets More features

The 2010 FX35 and FX50 are on sale now at Infiniti dealerships across the U.S. Since the luxury SUV only was introduced onto the market last year (summer of 2008), the model year doesn’t bring any mechanical or cosmetic updates but Infiniti has added some new standard features for 2010. These include standard Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System on all models and the addition of a standard USB Connection Port for iPod and other compatible devices as well as a 2.0GB Music Box hard drive to the Bose Premium Audio system for vehicles without the navigation system.

Moreover, the available Hard Drive Navigation System has been enhanced for 2010 with the addition of an in-dash single disc DVD audio/video drive, streaming audio via Bluetooth, Zagat Restaurant Guide and XM NavWeather.

The FX is offered with a choice of two engines, a 3.5-liter V6 with 303HP for the FX35 and a 390HP 5.0-liter V8 for the range-topping FX50.

Prices, including an $865 destination and handling fee, are set at $43,265 for the rear-wheel drive FX35, $44,715 for the AWD FX35 and $59,265 for the FX50 AWD.

Infiniti FX50 S Facelifted by Brabus’ CRD Division

Here’s a proposal from this year’s Frankfurt Show that somehow managed to escape our radar. Supposedly a concept study, the Infiniti FX50 S Limited Edition was created by Car Research and Development or CRD for short, a subsidiary of the Brabus Group that works directly with automakers and their national importers. Among other cars, CRD was responsible (…) for the creation of the Dodge Avenger-based Startech Starster that appeared at the 2007 Frankfurt Show.

The Infiniti FX50 S Limited Edition show car gets a set of bespoke 21-inch turbine-design light-alloy wheels in a grey finish, while the front grille, side air inlets in the front fenders and the roof bars are also painted grey.

The luxury SUV’s cabin is upholstered in high-quality leather with contrasting light brown stitching while the carbon-fiber trim in a dark brown finish and the alcantara trim on the headliner and pillars round off the interior upgrades.

And yes, we too are wondering why Brabus / CRD even bothered to call this creation a concept study…

2010 Infiniti EX35 Priced

Nissan’s luxury division Infiniti has released pricing on the 2010 EX35 that is on sale now at the firm’s U.S. dealerships. The MSRP (excluding tax, title and license fees) for the base EX35 RWD and AWD is $33,800 and $36,000 respectively, and for the better equipped EX35 Journey RWD and AWD, $35,200 and $37,400 correspondingly. While there are no cosmetic or mechanical upgrades with the EX35 retaining its 297HP 3.5-liter V6 engine paired to a five-speed automatic transmission and an available all-wheel drive system, Infiniti enhanced the 2010 model year’s standard equipment and revised the optional packages.

More specifically, the base EX35 is now offered with heated outside mirrors and auto on/off headlights, while the EX35 AWD also gains heated front seats. A standard Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System is added to EX35 Journey models, while all audio systems have been enhanced with a USB Connection Port for iPod and a 2GB Music Box hard drive to the Bose Premium Audio system – only on vehicles without Infiniti’s nav system.

As for the option packages, along with the new Bose and Around View Monitor pack, which includes an Advanced Climate Control System (ACCS) with the so-called “Plasmacluster air purification”, the Navigation Package has been upgraded with the addition of Bluetooth Streaming Audio, XM NavWeather and Zagat Restaurant Guide.

All New 2011 Infiniti M Luxury Sedan Offical Photos Out

In a special presentation at the 59th Annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, California, Infiniti unveiled the all-new 2011 M executive sports saloon through a 3-dimensional holographic presentation. The Japanese brand also released the first official photos of the mid-size sedan that will be sold for the first time around the world in 32 markets including Western Europe. The trio of German executive sedans, the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, should be considered the new M’s closest competitors.

The third generation of Infiniti’s M sedan comes with a completely new body that takes styling cues from the firm’s latest production and concept cars such as the Essence sports study blending organic shapes with swoopy lines and sculptured wings – though we must say that the front-end design does look similar to the Nissan Maxima.

Moving to the new M’s interior, as with most cars of the kind, Infiniti customers will feel right at home with the styling. The Japanese brand promises that the M will stand out thanks to the use of innovative materials, an advanced climate control system, superior audio and an enhanced quality feel.

The next-generation M saloon will be offered in the States and other markets with two new gasoline engine configurations. The 2011 M37, which will replace the current M35 and its 303 HP 3.5-liter V6, is powered by the company’s new 3.7-liter V6 producing around 330 horsepower. The range-topping 2011 M56 that takes the place of the current M45 and its 325 HP 4.5L V8 is moved by a new 5.6-liter V8 said to deliver over 400 horsepower.

For Western Europe, the M56 will be replaced by a Renault-sourced V6 performance diesel with an output of around 265 horsepower.

Infiniti did not disclose if the new M will be available with all-wheel drive versions in addition to the standard rear-wheel-drive models.

The new M sedan is scheduled to go on sale across the world as a 2011MY starting from Spring 2010. More details and photos will be released closer to the launch date.
