2011 Shelby GT350 Revealed

Shelby America has revealed the supercharged concept version of the 2011 Shelby GT350. The 2011 Shelby is designed to be light, nimble and powerful.

The GT350 will be getting 5.0-liter Ford Mustang Engine in the heart while many interiors and exteriors upgrade has also been introduced. The new GT350 will get a traditional Shelby Guardsmen Blue Le Mans Stripes in exterior.

The Ford V8 engine is coupled to 6-speed manual gearbox and a center exit exhaust.It will also bear a GT350 badges on the outside and include will include a Shelby Serial number.

The 2011 Shelby GT350 upgraded by Shelby American has got a tag price of $33,995.

Rumour: Ford F-150 to Get Mustang’s 3.7 Liter V6

The Ford’s most popular pickuptruck, the F-150 is going to get a new six-cylinder 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine the same which is used in Ford Mustang.

The Ecoboost engine uses a direct gasoline injection with twin-turbo forced induction providing a better fuel efficiency. The V6 engine develops a power output of 305HP and a torque of 280 lb-ft. The compnay also claims to provide a fuel efficiency of 30mpg on highways for the automatic transmission.

Not much details we had got as this is only a rumour. It is believed that Ford will reveal F-150 with V6 in around 2011. So keep watching for more update.

Ford Kuga SUV Production Shifted From Europe To USA

Due to economic recession the dollar has fallen tremendously against euro (abount 18%) which lead the ford to shift the producion of it compact SUV from europe to US.

One of the ‘insiders’ told Bloomberg that as many as 80,000 examples of the Kuga a year will be exported to Europe.

Aside from making the members of the United Auto Workers union extremely happy (and the opposite for those working in Germany), Ford’s move would also mean that the cool looking compact SUV would finally make its way to North American dealerships.

In Europe, Ford’s VW Tiguan challenger is offered with a 200HP 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five gasoline engine (with both automatic and manual gearbox options), and a 2.0-liter turbo diesel with 136 horsepower. However, it is very likely that Ford will add new powertrain options in the very near future as the company has already announced a new family of of 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol units.

Ford UK Adds New Limited Edition Titanium Individual to Fiesta Lineup

A new special edition model has been added to the Ford Fiesta line-up in Britain. The Titanium Individual ups-the luxury ante with two-tone leather sport seats in red and silver, while the same color theme is carried over throughout the interior on the leather steering wheel and gear knob, the door panels and the dashboard. Buyers can choose from six different exterior colors. Other standard features on the car include seven-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels and Bluetooth with USB.

According to the automaker, new Fiesta Titanium Individual provides buyers with a saving of 100 over a similarly equipped Titanium model.

The Fiesta range in Britain consists of Studio, Edge, ECOnetic, Zetec, Titanium and Zetec S trim levels while engine options include a 1.25-liter petrol and choices of 1.4-litre petrol or diesel or 1.6 petrol or diesel engines.

2011 Ford F-Series Super (Duper) Duty with New Gasoline and Diesel V8 Engines

Ford chose the Texas State Fair (surprise, surprise…) today to unveil its new, larger than life, 2011 F-Series Super Duty pickup truck model. Nestled behind that obnoxiously massive chrome grille is a new 6.2-liter V8 flexfuel gasoline engine that can run on regular-grade gasoline, E85 or any blend in between. Customers may also opt for a new, Ford-engineered and -built 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbocharged diesel engine. The company has yet to disclose power figures for either engine.

The new V8 units are coupled to an also new 6R140 heavy-duty TorqShift six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift manual capability.

Ford says that the new pickup truck features increased towing and payload capability as well as improved ride, handling and steering feel over the outgoing Super Duty model.

“The 2011 Super Duty offers the widest array of solutions for the widest array of heavy-duty work truck customers,” said Chris Brewer, chief engineer. “The Super Duty lineup offers a variety of body styles and powertrains, from diesel and gasoline engines, each with a new six-speed transmission, to pickup trucks and chassis cabs, each with the towing and payload capabilities that define Super Duty.”

Ford C-MAX and Grand C-MAX Goes Live at Frankfurt

An all-new, two-model Ford C-MAX range that consists of the five-seat C-MAX and the longer, seven-seat Grand C-MAX with sliding rear-doors made its world premiere at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show where FoMoCo also confirmed that the Grand C-MAX will indeed be launched in North America in late 2011. Set to go on sale in Europe in the second half of 2010, the C-MAX minivan is the first model of the next generation Focus family that will include hatchback, sedan and coupe-convertible variants and are scheduled for production in the next few years.

The C-MAX range, which will compete head on with the Renault Scenic / Grand Scenic and Citroen C4 Picasso / C4 Grand Picasso (see a naming pattern here…) in Europe, will be the first Ford to get the firm’s all-new 1.6-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engines with direct injection, turbocharging and twin independent variable valve timing.

The 1.6-liter unit will be offered with outputs ranging between 150 and 180 horsepower and will be joined later on by a smaller displacement engine with up to 130HP as well as a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 200HP and above.

Whereas the five-seat C-MAX retains the seating arrangement from the current model with three individual 40/20/40 folding seats, and the option of a Comfort system that allows the outer seats to slide diagonally backwards and inwards to create a 2+2 layout, the longer Grand C-MAX features three rows of seats in a 2+3+2 layout that can be switched to a 2+2+2 layout.

Naturally for an MPV, the second- and third-row seats can be folded down to create a flat load floor, irrespective of how many seats remain in use.

Furthermore, the C-MAX’s conventional back doors have been replaced on the Grand C-MAX with sliding rear doors on both sides of the car.

Ford Grand C-MAX: Early Unveiling for 7-Seat LWB Version of C-MAX

Official photos of the long-wheelbase version of Ford’s all-new C-MAX compact minivan that receives the Grand moniker circulated on the net today. Due to be revealed alongside the five-seat C-MAX at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Grand C-MAX gets a 150mm boost in length to make room for a third row of seats that can accommodate two more passengers, while Ford also equipped it with a pair of sliding doors at the back to provide easier access to the rear seats.

Ford’s new five- and seven seat MPVs are based on the underpinnings of the next generation Focus that is expected to be launched in 2010. Both models will be offered with the company’s all-new EcoBoost 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine.

The image gallery also provides us with our first glimpse of the car’s interior, with the dashboard (same for both MPVs) featuring a similar design language – though somewhat more cluttered, to the European market Mondeo. Unless Ford plans to surprise us, buyers should expect to see the same console sans a few minor changes, on the 2011MY Focus.

FoMoCo’s new Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic rivals are scheduled to go on sale in Europe during in mid-2010.

Ford’s 2010 Seven-Seater MPV to be Named Grand C-MAX

It appears that Ford’s marketing team took a liking to the naming system used by their French colleagues at Renault on the longer versions of the Scenic and Espace MPVs as according to Carscoop sources, the seven-seater version of the all-new C-MAX will employ the ‘Grand’ moniker. While Ford has already published the first photos of the five-seater C-MAX, we’ll have to wait a few more days for the Grand C-MAX that’s also planned to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

In addition to being longer than the five-seat model, the Grand C-MAX also makes use of a pair of sliding doors at the rear to provide easier access to the two last rows of seats that can accommodate three and two passengers respectively.

The Grand C-MAX will be available with the same diesel and gasoline engine range with its five-seater sibling including Ford’s brand-new 1.6-litre turbocharged direct-injection EcoBoost unit.

Ford Transit Minibus gets All-Wheel Drive Option

Ford’s British division has added an all all-wheel drive option to its 15-seater Transit minibus. The AWD system, which automatically provides torque flow to the front wheels when traction loss at the rear is detected, costs an additional 3,995 and is available with the 140-horsepower 2.4-litre 140PS Duratorq TDCi diesel engine equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. According to the company, compared with the standard rear-wheel-drive Transit minibus, the additional front axle weight is 70kg or 154 lbs while the rear axle weight is 10kg or 22 lbs heavier on the AWD model.

“We’ve had tremendous interest in AWD from construction, roadside assistance and utility companies,” said Ford of Britain, commercial vehicles director, Steve Kimber On top of that we know that taxi companies and schools may also benefit from extra traction in many every-day situations.”

All New 2010 Ford C-MAX Revealed

We’ve just been tipped off that Ford will swipe the covers off the all-new 2010 C-MAX minivan by the end of this week as the automaker seeks to get some additional publicity before the world premiere of the model at the forthcoming Frankfurt show. The new compact-sized MPV is based on the next-generation Focus platform with its styling loosely inspired from the Iosis MAX concept car that was displayed at the 2009 Geneva Salon in March.

According to Carscoop sources, Ford has followed in the footsteps of Renault and Citroen with their respective Scenic / Grande Scenic and C4 Picasso models by developing two different body styles for the C-MAX, one for the five seater version and another one for the larger and more practical, seven seater model.

While we’re patiently waiting for Ford to green light the release of the first official images, we’ve added a full set of spy shots of the seven-seater model. Unlike the base C-MAX with five seats and conventional rear-doors, the seven-seater version features a pair of sliding rear doors that promise to improve access to the rear seats.

It is believed that Ford will premiere its newly developed 1.6-liter Ecoboost turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine on the new C-MAX that will also be available with numerous other normally aspirated petrol and turbo diesel units.

The new Ecooboost engine will eventually make its way on other Ford models in Europe such as the Mondeo and the next-generation Focus range.

Sales of the new C-MAX models are expected to start in Europe in mid-2010.

As for North America, even though Ford has confirmed that the U.S. will get the all-new, next-gen Focus model in 2010, there’s no word if the range will also include the C-MAX.
