Ford India has taken off the covers from its latest mini compact SUV, the Ford EcoSport. The new SUV will be a global product and mainly meant for Country with fast growing auto market. The EcoSport is the second product out of 8 launches which Ford will be launching this year in India.

The EcoSport is powered by a -1.0-litre 3 cylinder Turbocharged EcoBoost engine which churns out power of 118BHP and a torque of 170NM. The engine is mated to 5-speed transmission, at present no Automatic transmission will be available. The 118BHP figure for the 1.0-punny engine is really impressive. The engine features (Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing) which helps to deliver peak torque starting at 1330RPM.

The new EcoSport is based on 2011 fiesta platform. The car showed by the Ford is a concept model; the production model might get certain changes on the body shells. At present Ford didn’t reveal the interior part of the car. The SUV is smaller than XUV500, and when launched in India market it will give direct competition to Tata Safari, Scorpio, Rio and SUV500. The new EcoSport is expected to be launched in the price bracket of 7-9 lakh.

The all new 2011 Ford Fiesta is set for its launch on July 14,2011 in New Delhi. The 2011 Fiesta is the Fords’ trump card against the recent launches which include Hyundai verna and Volkswagen Vento.
The 2011 Fiesta looks sporty and take a slight edge over its competitors which include Honda City, Vento and SX4. The Fiesta will be made available in both petrol and diesel variant, the petrol variant gets 1.5-litre TiVCT engine which churns outs 109 BHP and a torque of 140 Nm, which diesel variant gets 90 BHP heart with a torque of 204 NM under the hood. The car’s linear power delivery makes it easy to drive around the city as well as on highway and the car doesn’t lose confidence which maneuvering at high speeds.
The 2011 Fiesta comes equipped with hell lot of features which includes steering equipped audio controls, parking sensors, cruise control, trip meter, voice recognition which even control automatic climate control, Bluetooth handsfree and cell phone connectivity. If the company would have provided reverse parking sensors, reverse parking camera and rear AC vent it would have been a butter in the bread.
Ford claims the Fiesta to provide a mileage of 17 kmpl for petrol variant and 23.5 kmpl afor the diesel variant. Pricing details and variant wise details will be out tomorrow. So stay with us for further updates.
