Chevrolet is planning to bring its all new Indian-bound SUV, the Chevrolet Trailblazer. The company is planning to regain its position in premium SUV segment which was earlier ruled by Chevrolet Captiva, and is now captured by Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

The SUV will be made available with two engine options- 2.8-litre 180bhp CRDI engine and 2.5-litre 150bhp diesel engine. The 2.8-litre CRDI engine is much more powerful than the heart of Fortuner and Endeavour.

According to Chevrolet, the Trailblazer will be featuring lot of car like features and will be a seven seater SUV. Further it will be more spacious in comparison to other SUV of the same segment including Toyota Fortuner.

Chevrolet is planning to bring the SUV via CKD route and assemble the vehicle at their Halol facility. We are expecting the SUV to be priced in 17 lakh range. We can just hope that GM rolls out their new SUV for Indian roads soon.

Chevrolet India has revealed its new Sail Hatchback and MPV model at the Auto Expo New Delhi. The newly introduced two cars are the first models to be launched from GM India’s Chinese partner SAIC’s portfolio.

The Sail hatchback is scheduled to go on sale from mid-2012. The stylish looking hatchback will be powered by 1.2-litere petrol engine with power figures of 18BHP. Fiat sourced 1.3-litre multijet engine will also be added to lineup later in the year.

The Sail MPV will be the second MPV in Chevy portfolio in India after Tavera. The Seven seated MPV will be sold initially with 1.4-litre 94.6BHP engine. Later on 1.3-litre diesel engine will also be added to MPV lineup also.

Chevrolet is planning to price both model aggressively, let’s see if both are models are able to do the magic for Chevy or not.

Chevrolet has revealed its new updated Tavera and Captiva at the Auto Expo. The Tavera, named Tavera Neo3 will some with mild styling tweaks which includes new redesigned headlamp, new front bumper design and big front grille. The top-end Tavera will feature contrasting color for the bumper and side cladding.

The interior are also tweaked and will come with beige and dark grey color theme. The biggest change in the Tavera is in the engine mill, It is now powered by Sonalika-Sourced 2-Litre CRDI diesel engine. The company is planning to sell the old 2.5-litre engine alongside with the new 2.0-litre engine.

Chevrolet also revealed the new updated Captiva. The SUV now look much more muscular due to its new split front grille and bumper. Chevrolet has also added many new features to it which includes Cruise control, Rain-sensing wipers, etc. The new Captiva gets 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine which is mated to 6-speed Automatic transmission. The new Captiva will be available for sale from April 2012.

The most awaited Chevrolet Beat diesel will be soon hitting the Indian market. The company is trying out to cashout the increase in demand of Diesel hatch due to heavy differences in the price of Diesel and Petrol in India.
According to brochures leaked by Team-Bhp member, the Beat diesel will be powered by 936cc engine which will churns out 58.5 PS @4000 rpm and provide a maximum torque of 150Nm @ 1750rpm. The company is claiming mileage figure of 24kmpl which will be tested out as soon as it get in the market.

The company will also be providing Auto Climate control feature, the first hatch to get the feature in its segment. The top end variant will further get Dual Air-bag with pretensioner and Dual cockpit design. The company will further provide a warranty for 3 year / 1 lac kilometer.

At present the pricing details are not officially out but we are sensing something close to 4.9L for Beast LT and 5.45L for Beat LT(o).
